Canberra Celtic were the winners of the 2006 National Folk Festival "Shaddup you face" competition
The announcer at the final for the Queen competition summed up the weekend when she said, "This is the first time at the National Folk Festival for the Canberra Celtic Pipe Band -- and they are everywhere!" And we were.
We had four performances and a dance workshop attended by over 40 people keen to learn the Fling. Not to mention the younger members who were busking night and day.
We were on ABC 666 with Joe Dolce (who wants to see us record Shaddap you face - for any producers reading this). We made the Canberra Times with our dancing and the Queen numbers made the ABC news. What a weekend!
