Competition HistoryThe Canberra Celtic Pipe Band first competed in 2002. That year the band competed in two competitions- Dapto NSW and Blacktown When we formed this band, one of our goals was to participate in a couple of pipe band competitions each year as a way of getting constructive feedback, setting goals to work towards, meeting people from other bands, and generally having a good time with each other. As we approach the end of our first year of existence, we have recently achieved that goal, and, with tremendous success.
In our first ever competition at Dapto on 19 October 2002, we came overall 2nd in Grade 4. Later that year, at Britfest in Blacktown. the CCPB came overall 3rd out of 7 bands in Grade 4. The band also came 1st in dress in Grade 4 (looking smart in new Balmorals and yellow hackles!).
Due to loss of some key members as they grew up and left school, and dak days of COVID, the Band has currently ceased competitions until a core group of Pipes and drummers can re-form a competitive band - CCPB is currently a Community Band seeking new members | | Latest Newscontact us email to Alex
